DEC Mugs! Wheel Mini Course: Tuesday

Service Description

In this 3 week course, you’ll discover the joys of making your own mugs on the pottery wheel, learning the entire process from start to finish. Learn how to make a cup, pull and attach handles. This mini-course is geared toward absolute beginners, and is also great for anyone with a bit of experience who’d like some extra practice on their forms and handles. Lessons are as follows: Week 1: Throwing
 Week 2: Trimming + handles Week 3: Glazing. Final Pottery takes 1-2 weeks to complete firing. POTTERY MAY NOT BE AVAILABLE BEFORE CHRISTMAS. Classes meet once a week for 2.5 hour sessions with practice time each week. Our 3 week courses come with outside practice time every week where you can come in for an additional 1hr50min practice session what you learned in class. See our Student Practice Time tab in our menu for more details Course fee includes everything you need: clay, use of studio tools, a rainbow of cone 5 glazes to choose from. Clay is not included for optional practice time. In each class session, you will build on what you learned and made the previous week, so we strongly advise you to make sure you’ll be able to attend all class sessions before signing up. It is especially important that you attend the first class, so if you think you might have to miss week 1, please consider enrolling in another session. We do not offer make up classes at this time. Long nails can make working with clay very frustrating. We recommend cutting them close before attending class. Also, clay is messy. Please dress accordingly and bring along an apron and a towel/rag for wiping your hands throughout the process. Lastly, we work with moving equipment and long hair needs to be pulled back.
